ThanksGIVING: Clients Who Inspire Through Charity
Thanksgiving, a holiday generally involving expressions of gratitude, charitable acts and lots and lots of turkey, has been a popular staple for many years. It definitely has a way of bringing out the best in people, inspiring some individuals to want to give and help those that are in need. Luckily for us at Findsome & Winmore, we have the honor of working with several diverse clients, some of whom are very active in the community and give back every single day of the year.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we felt a fun blog focusing on some of these amazing clients was a fitting way to recognize a few of those that help others. Check out our list and, if interested, learn how you can help too!
Clients Who Give Back
Children’s Home Society of Florida
Services We Offer: Marketing Support
Did you know that nearly 2.8 million U.S. teenagers run away from home every year, often to escape issues at home? Did you know that 104,000 children long for the day they’ll be adopted? With a goal of breaking the generational cycle of child abuse in families and protecting children from harm, the Children’s Home Society of Florida has been caring for kids since 1902 and is a wonderful charitable organization. Their work begins in the community with volunteers and dedicated staff members.
Services We Offer: Website Maintenance and Print Needs
As a non-profit organization dedicated to offering solutions to issues faced by “at risk” children, ELEVATE Orlando offers year-round programming and develops leaders that give back to their community through service projects. The overall goal of the organization is to have its students graduate from high school with a plan for the future and to pursue post-secondary education.
Hi-Tide Boat Lifts
Services We Offer: Website Design and Digital Marketing Strategy
In business since 1979, Hi-Tide Boat Lifts is one of the most established boat lift manufacturing companies in the industry. The company started Kids On Track in 2015, a charity focused on lifting the spirits and inspiring the dreams of children throughout the country by providing them with unique access to IndyCar racing events. During 2016, Kids on Track worked with local children organizations and granted children free access to racing events.
Elevation Financial Group L.L.C.
Services We Offer: Website Support and Video
The Elevation Financial Group is a company helping individuals as related to finance, property management, property renovation and community revitalization. The company has two charity initiatives designed to help disadvantaged children – Elevation Scholars and the Global Initiative. The Elevation Scholars program helps high-achieving students from low-income families gain acceptance into the nation’s most selective colleges and universities. The Elevation Global Initiative works with partners in Haiti and Africa to support social entrepreneurs who build businesses that tackle social problems and create jobs.
UCP of Central Florida
Services We Offer: Website Support
Founded in 1955 to help children with cerebral palsy, UCP of Central Florida helps children with a number of disabilities or developmental delays, in addition to children without disabilities. UCP of Central Florida empowers children to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education and therapy in an inclusive environment. The charitable organization is also looking for volunteers!
And that is just five of several of our charitable clients. In addition to offering a number of different services to these clients and others, Findsome & Winmore also believes in charity ourselves. Several of our staff members, including our principals, serve on various charitable boards. Matt Certo, our CEO, has served as a board chairman of organizations, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida, and is currently on the Florida Board of Managers for Nemours Children’s Hospital. Rich Wahl, COO, serves on the board for the Coalition for Homeless.
Additionally, Kelly Lafferman, CMO, serves on the board for the Economic Development Commission, and Kelly Rogers, Vice President of Client Services, is active on the Women’s Advisory Board for the Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital. Volunteering can be a fun way of getting out of the house, getting involved and giving back.
And you can lend a helping hand too! It doesn’t just have to be during Thanksgiving. There are a lot of different ways to give back and just as many charitable organizations to volunteer with – The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Coalition for the Homeless, Orlando Union Rescue Mission and Covenant House Florida to name a few. Participating in holiday food drives, encouraging employee volunteerism, sponsoring youth sports teams and speaking to youth groups are also great ways to get involved. So, get out there and start helping–you’ll be glad you did!
